You want the law firm to see that you can present the image you want clients to see.

If the law firm is casual, it`s always best to sin on the side of formal attire during your interview. Dress formally means that you take the internship seriously and can dress appropriately when you get the internship. You might decide that you are a good candidate for a lawyer. If so, your internship can help you explore your options for the type of law you want to focus on.
