The Controller is a key member of the firm's leadership team, responsible for overseeing all financial activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance, and providing strategic financial guidance. This role requires a proactive individual with a strong understanding of financial principles and experience working within a professional services environment, preferably a law firm. The Controller will manage the day-to-day accounting operations, develop and implement financial policies, and provide insightful financial reporting to the firm's partners.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA preferred.
- Minimum of 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a law firm or other professional services environment.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, including GAAP.
- Experience with trust accounting and IOLTA accounts is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
