A budding startup that provides AI powered mapping and data infrastructure analytics for enterprise civil engineering, construction, transportation, and energy companies is hiring for a Director of Engineering to join their growing team. This is a key hire that will manage a software engineering and ML team while helping define product vision and technical resource allocation. The ideal candidate has experience with a software enabled hardware device product or parallel industries such as robotics, AR/VR, lidar/radar, or autonomous driving. Experience working at a high growth mode startup is also a huge plus. 

Required skills: 

• Experience managing one or more teams of software engineers, data scientists or similar
• Fluency in Python, C/C++, or other open-source engineering languages
• Prior experience as a Manager, Lead, Founding Engineer, VP or Director of Engineering, Technical Product Manage or similar 
• Prior exposure to a product that is powered by Artificial Intelligence or Machine Learning 
• Willingness to commute to Somerville 3+ days a week

Nice to have:

• Domain experience within robotics, autonomous driving, AR/VR or related industries 
• Prior startup experience
• Exceptional knowledge of Python for data processing and/or data science related tasks
