Real Estate Accountant

Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Real Estate Accountant to join our team in Sparrows Point, MD. This role will support property-level accounting functions and play a key role in the month-end close process, financial reporting, and day-to-day property accounting operations. This role will directly assist the Controller and is a great chance to learn and grow under a talented leader.
Responsibilities:
• Perform general ledger accounting, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
• Prepare financial statements and management reports for assigned properties
• Review and process accounts payable and accounts receivable activity
• Assist with CAM reconciliations and lease analysis as needed
• Support year-end audit preparation and interface with external auditors
• Collaborate with property management and asset management teams to ensure financial accuracy
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 2+ years of professional accounting experience
• Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and general ledger systems
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
Bonus / Preferred Skills:
• Experience with Yardi Voyager
• Background in commercial real estate or mixed-use property accounting
• CAM reconciliation experience
• CPA track or designation is a plus but not required
