Senior Accountant



We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our growing finance team in Baltimore. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional with 4+ years of experience, a strong background in multi-entity accounting, and a passion for driving accuracy in financial reporting. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of financial statements, supporting month-end close processes, and collaborating with internal stakeholders to optimize financial operations.
If you have experience with ASC 842 lease accounting, that's a plus, but not required.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee multi-entity accounting, ensuring accurate financial reporting across multiple business units.
- Manage general ledger activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
- Assist in preparing financial statements, variance analyses, and management reports.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies.
- Support external audits by preparing necessary documentation and working closely with auditors.
- Assist in cash flow management, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
- Stay current with accounting standards and regulations, including ASC 842 lease accounting (preferred).
- Identify process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of professional accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or multi-entity environment.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
- Multi-entity accounting experience is required.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, SAP, or similar).
- Experience with lease accounting (ASC 842) is a plus.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or progress toward CPA is a plus.

A rapidly expanding property management company is seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to contribute to their continued growth and success. This role will be remote for the first year, with required paid monthly travel to the company's office in Destin. After the Pensacola office opens, this job will transition to a 3 days in office, 2 days remote schedule. Applicants must will be willing to work both remotely and hybrid.
Responsibilities:
- Perform all aspects of accounting for a designated portfolio of residential properties.
- Execute month-end close procedures, including preparing and posting journal entries in accordance with GAAP.
- Apply accrual accounting principles to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Analyze financial data and prepare reports for management.
- Collaborate with operations and other departments to provide financial insights and support.
- Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in an Accounting position (candidates coming out of public accounting are highly encouraged to apply).
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUPs and PivotTables.
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with accrual accounting and/or budgeting are bonuses.
